You Know You're Obsessed With LotR when...
- you find your hobbit name on one of the internet generators (or better yet, created yourself one) and insist that everybody call you that, even your mom and dad
- you beg your parents to serve "second breakfast"
- ...and succeeded!
- your wardrobe consists of short pants and baggy shirts
- you wear a replica of the One Ring on a gold chain around your neck and always have a sad look on your face
- everyone knows not to ask you anything about Lord of the Rings for fear of a mighty big earful lasting over an hour nonstop
- you and your best friends have named yourself Merry and Pippin, and you try to take vegetables from your neighbor's garden
- instead of "hold on a second" you say "Half a minute!"
- whenever your friends ask you to do something with them, you nod and say "Besides, you need people of intelligence on this sort of mission...quest...thing!"
- when your mom asks you to do your chores, you reply "I know what I must do, but I am afraid to do it."
- you and your friend sign up for a class with a prof. that neither of you know, but you do know that he is a big lotr fan so you figure that he couldn't be all that bad! (turns out you were definitely right!
- you waste hours of your time - and tons of hairspray - trying to get your hair to curl
- you purposely and blatantly eavesdrop on random people, hoping that they will suspect you and ask if you are eavesdropping, to which you reply, "I wasn't droppin' no eaves, sir/ma'am, Honest!"
- you have been refused service at fast-food restaurants because of your "barefootness"
- you have put rogain on your feet, hoping to have "hobbit feet"
- you and your friends make a regular tradition of taking off your shoes and socks (if you had any on to begin with) and seeing who has the most hobbity feet (I have actually witnessed this first hand :)
- even though you always dreaded helping in the family garden, you are actually planning to have a real nice garden this year...almost as good as Sam's
- you have found those websites where it shows how to make hobbit costumes and made yourself one
- ...and you wear it everywhere, even to walmart!
- you have/or want to have a pony named Bill
- the first page of your journal reads: "There and Back Again...a hobbit's tale, by [your hobbit name]
- no one has to ask what your favorite book/movie/author is
- you rename your best friend Sam and insist that you both act out the whole "almost drowning" scene everytime you go swimming or canoing
- you want to name your cats Merry and Pippin, even though your mom says that "Mary" can't be a name for a boy cat (thanks to Raelyn! : )
